Get it on Google Play
On one hand, install LE GPS app (the transmitter) on a device with GPS capabilities (It must also have Bluetooth 4.0 – iPhone 4S and higher for example).
On the other hand, install LE GPS Rec app (on an Android tablet for example, version 4.0 and higher for Bluetooth 4.0 support).
Launch the app when you have some network to cache the maps tiles. You’re ready to go for a walk!
Turn on the transmitter app (LE GPS), then turn on the receiver app (LE GPS Rec). The pairing is automatic, you must see your position on the map on your Android device!
The app shows your location in real time once connected to LE GPS, with your altitude and speed.
Your location coordinates are available in different formats (see options).
GPS data for all
A great feature of this app is its ability to expose the received GPS data to any other app in your device!
In order to use this great feature, you need to activate 2 options:
- Turn on the expose GPS data option in the app settings.
- You also need to activate developer mode with Mock Location option activated, or get your device rooted. The developer mode is the best option as it is a build in option from Google, it is harmless to your device, and can be reversed at any time. To get into developer mode, go to Settings > About phone and tap Build number seven times. Return to the previous screen to find Developer options at the bottom.
